This week's five new Figma plugins.
This issue is all about making text pretty and adding fun styles to your designs.
There’s a plugin for animating your text (perfect for Figma Slides), and another that comes with “styles in a can” (yes, you read that correctly). And if you’re designing your own custom typography in Figma and want to turn it into a font, we found a plugin for that too… Enjoy! 🤗
1. Anitype
Animate your text.
Anitype comes with over a dozen animation presets so you can apply them to any text in your designs. Select the frame with text you want to animate and choose which animation preset you want. You can preview how it’ll look directly in the plugin, or in Figma’s prototype mode. The plugin also exports your animated text as lottie files, animation specs, mp4, webm and gif to speed up developer handoffs and video creation.

4. Font-o-matic
Create custom fonts directly from Figma.
If you’ve designed a vector typography in Figma, the plugin Font-o-matic can convert it into a custom font file, directly from Figma. Line up your character shapes horizontally in this specific order: capital letters A-Z, lowercase a-z, digits 0-9, and punctuation characters !@#$%^&*()_+-={}[]|\:;"'<>,.?/`~ (for a total of 94); set your font details in the plugin and click “Forge Font”. You can then download an OTF, TTF or WOFF file for your custom font!

5. IconDescriptor
Auto-generate multilingual icon descriptions.
