The final issue of Figma Plugin Weekly

Hey everyone,

This is a hard one to write, but it’s time: After three years and hundreds of plugins featured, this will be the last issue of Figma Plugin Weekly.

At Config 2026, Figma introduced generative plugins — tools you can build on the spot by prompting the Figma agent, right inside a file. That’s a real shift in how plugins get made, and it means the number of plugins created every week is about to grow far beyond what a “5 plugins per week” format was ever built to track. We thought it was time to step back and rethink what actually makes sense now — an editorial pause until we figure out the right format.

This wasn’t an easy decision. Every week for three years, putting together five plugins worth sharing with you was genuinely one of the best parts of our work. It only happened because you showed up — reading, replying, sharing plugins we’d missed, and telling us when something we featured actually helped you ship faster. That’s the whole reason this newsletter existed, and the whole reason it lasted as long as it did.

So, really: thank you. For subscribing, for reading, for caring about this weird, wonderful corner of the design tooling world with us.

We’re not going anywhere — just hitting pause on Substack for now. When we land on a format that fits, or start something new, we’ll find a way to let you know.

Until then, keep building great things. There’s always a Figma plugin for that.
